Mr. Deb Adhikari is a Chemical Engineer from Calcutta University and has done an Advanced Management Program from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

He is presently the Director (Exploration & Production) of the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI). He was earlier Executive Director in ONGC and has held position as the Director on the Board of PMHBL, Mangalore SEZ Ltd. (MSEZ) and Dahej SEZ Ltd. (DSL). He was also a Permanent Invitee on the Board of MRPL and a Special Invitee on the Board of ONGC Petro-additions Ltd. (OPaL).

Mr. Deb Adhikari has over 34 years of diverse experience in the upstream sector of the Indian oil & gas industry. His expertise spans operations, project management, strategy, and business development. Starting his career with ONGC in well services activities in upper Assam, Mr. Adhikari has worked in oil and gas processing plant in Uran, Maharashtra. He has functioned as the project manager for Daman Development Project in western offshore operations of ONGC. He was also instrumental in taking over Tapti Assets and Panna-Mukta fields & assets for ONGC from a joint venture.

During his tenure as Executive Director, Chief Business Development & Joint Ventures in ONGC, Mr. Adhikari led the business development of ONGC in the areas of Downstream & Petrochemicals and Renewables & New Energy- charting paths for new businesses.
